I got up at 7.40 today. feeling tired and sleepy deprived but the feeling went away after 15 mins. I’m accumulating sleep debt probably. I prepared coffee for everyone, helped with cooking and did sweeping of the house. I’m writing this using GitHub mobile from a hair saloon. Hmm.. the advancement of technology

If I want to do a new thing daily, I need to stop doing some other thing or do the other thing efficiently so that you find time for the new thing.

What are the other things that I can stop doing.

  • Stop engaging with socials. the big three - Insta/YT/X. I cannot stop completely as I’m learning things from there. I need to schedule time for this - 30 mins daily, probably at the end of the day.

There are lot of things that I can do efficiently by following simple principles.

  • Batch similar tasks together. I will expand on this later.
  • ABC. Always be closing. Don’t leave tasks hanging without a conclusion or clarity on next steps. This mistake wastes effort and time. Be the guy who sends out notes of the meeting explicitly stating next steps and delegation of work with clear responsibility.
  • 80/20 rule. Don’t try to be perfect.
  • Don’t multitask.
  • Preserve context in some way. Losing context is costing me dearly. this problem makes me hesitant to start the task..some times, It has taken months,year to restart the task. Documentation is the only way. you cannot ABC all the time.
  • On time is late. Commit a time and honor it. if you are not going to make it, communicate it to the stake holders. Honor other people’s time even you are paying for it. I lack on this.
  • I should not overestimate what i can do a day and get disappointed. The reality is we overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in an year. Things take time and I should accept that. Beleive in consistency and compounding.
  • Do things with end in mind. Reduce throw away work. Time is short.

I want to do the below things daily, no matter what the mood of the day is.

  • Write something
  • Read something
  • Drink 3 litres of water.
  • Exposure to sunlight.
  • Wimhoff followed by meditation.
  • No sugar in coffee,tea
  • don’t watch insta reels, yt shorts.
  • Timebox your tasks. Don’t let it exceed a stipulated amout of time, it’s not worth it. Remember 80/20.
  • Single tasking only.
